Following Saturday’s robbery at a gold shop in Adabraka, the Ghana Police Service has announced a manhunt for the suspects involved.
The incident, which occurred around midday, involved a group of armed men in a Toyota Highlander who reportedly fired at a Toyota Corolla, leaving the shop with sacks of cash.
The attack forced the Corolla’s occupants to retreat and surrender.
In a statement issued shortly after the incident, the police confirmed they are pursuing the armed robbers responsible for the attack, which left one person injured.
“We would like to assure the public that we will apprehend the suspects and bring them to justice,” the statement read.
Eyewitnesses report that this is the second time in three months that the jewellery shop has been targeted, with the first attack occurring around 6 p.m.
