President John Dramani Mahama has submitted the names of his second batch of nominated regional and sector ministers to Parliament for approval.

The nominations include prominent political figures, seasoned professionals, and development experts from diverse backgrounds. Among those nominated are Wilbert Petty Brentum for the Western North Region, Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere for the Central Region, and Joseph Nelson for the Western Region as regional ministers.

In the second batch of ministerial nominations, Haruna Iddrisu has been appointed to lead the Ministry of Education, a key sector critical to shaping the future of Ghana. George Opare-Addo, an experienced political organiser, will head the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, a position aimed at harnessing the energy and potential of Ghana’s youth for national growth. Other significant appointments include Kwame Governs Agbodza for the Ministry of Roads and Highways, Eric Opoku for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and Agnes Naa Momo Lartey for the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection.

The list of appointees also includes Abla Dzifa Gomashie, who will assume the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, and Emelia Arthur, who has been nominated for the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture. Other key figures include Ahmed Ibrahim for the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, and Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare for the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry.

This brings the total number of regional ministers nominated so far to thirteen, while the number of sector ministers nominated stands at twelve.
