The Abuburo Nkosuah Foundation will convene stakeholders from the private sector, civil society, development sector, academia, community leadership and youth development at the Abuburo Nkosuah Foundation Impact Summit (ANFIS 2026) on Friday, 18 September 2026.

Held under the theme “Empowering Communities, Transforming Futures,” the invitation-only summit will feature Catherine Krobo-Edusei, Founder and Managing Director of Eden Tree Limited, as Guest of Honour, while Juan Echanove, Team Lead of the Right to Food Team at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), will deliver the keynote address.

The participation of the two distinguished speakers brings together perspectives from Ghana’s private sector and food industry alongside the global Right to Food agenda, reflecting ANFIS 2026’s emphasis on collaboration, practical action and sustainable community impact.

From the Right to Food to community action

Juan Echanove’s participation will bring a food-systems and Right to Food perspective to the summit. As Team Lead of the Right to Food Team at FAO, he contributes to work around the advancement of the Right to Food and approaches that support access to adequate, safe and nutritious food.

His keynote will form part of a wider programme examining how different actors can contribute to addressing challenges affecting communities and translating ideas and commitments into practical action.

For the Abuburo Nkosuah Foundation, the conversation connects closely with its work in nutrition intervention, education, youth development and public health, as well as its broader interest in strengthening food systems through partnerships and community-centred approaches.

Catherine Krobo-Edusei’s role as Guest of Honour will bring a private-sector perspective to the summit. As Founder and Managing Director of Eden Tree Limited, her participation provides an opportunity to consider the role of businesses and other non-state actors in contributing to conversations around food, communities and sustainable development.

Beyond the keynote: Conversations, collaboration and practical engagement

ANFIS 2026 is structured to move beyond keynote presentations by creating opportunities for dialogue, knowledge exchange and collaboration.

The summit will feature a series of fireside conversations addressing issues relevant to sustainable community impact. One of the central conversations, “Building Partnerships for Sustainable Community Impact,” will explore how organisations across sectors can move beyond isolated interventions towards purposeful partnerships, shared resources and practical approaches that create lasting value for communities.

The programme will also feature collaborative programme labs, allowing participants to engage more directly with the Foundation’s four programme areas: Nutrition Intervention, Education & Mentorship, Youth Empowerment & Certification, and Menstrual Hygiene Education.

The labs are intended to provide space for participants to exchange ideas, identify areas of common interest and explore potential avenues for collaboration around community-focused interventions.

A conversation on perinatal mental health

ANFIS 2026 will also create space for a dedicated conversation on mental health during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period.

The fireside discussion will bring together professional and community perspectives to examine the importance of mental wellbeing during the perinatal period and the role of awareness, support systems and appropriate interventions.

The conversation will follow the launch of Healing Nest, an initiative being introduced at the summit to support conversations and action around perinatal mental health.

Creating space for cross-sector collaboration

At the heart of ANFIS 2026 is the recognition that sustainable community impact cannot be achieved through the efforts of one organisation or sector alone.

The summit brings together people and organisations with different forms of expertise, experience, networks and resources to create space for meaningful exchange and potential collaboration.

Through its conversations and collaborative sessions, ANFIS 2026 seeks to encourage participants to examine not only the challenges communities face, but also the opportunities for different sectors to work together to address them.

The summit will also provide an opportunity for participants to gain deeper insight into the Abuburo Nkosuah Foundation’s programmes and explore ways of supporting, partnering with or contributing to community-focused initiatives.

About the Abuburo Nkosuah Foundation

The Abuburo Nkosuah Foundation is a Ghanaian non-profit organisation working across four programme areas: Nutrition Intervention, Education & Mentorship, Youth Empowerment & Certification, and Menstrual Hygiene Education.

The Foundation uses partnerships, community engagement, volunteerism and evidence-informed approaches to contribute to improved nutrition, education, youth development and public health outcomes.

Its work includes initiatives such as the Eat Right Podcast, Eat Right Community Outreach, Supported Home Gardening Project, Time with High Schoolers, Donate a Book Project, youth empowerment and skills development initiatives, nutrition-sensitive enterprise support, and menstrual hygiene education.

ANFIS forms part of the Foundation’s broader effort to strengthen relationships across sectors and create platforms through which organisations, professionals and communities can connect around practical approaches to sustainable impact.

The Abuburo Nkosuah Foundation Impact Summit (ANFIS 2026) will take place on Friday, 18 September 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at ALX HUB – Airport Square One, Accra. Participation is strictly by invitation.
