Non-registered students for the 2022–2023 second semester of the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) can heave a sigh of relief, as the management of the school has reconsidered its earlier decision to demand that they defer their programmes.
At least 600 students will benefit from this arrangement, which allows them to settle their payments over the course of the second semester.
In a statement on August 15, 2023, the school said the reviewed decision means a special examination will be organized for the non-registered after the end of the 2022–2023 second semester exams.
However, the affected students, including those on internships, must have paid their fees in full and penalties thereon to qualify to take the special examination.
The modalities for the special examination will be communicated to students, and students interested in this arrangement are to apply to their departmental heads, according to the statement.
The university had earlier taken a decision to defer the programmes of over 600 students for failing to meet the deadlines of their 2022–2023 second semester fees payments.
However, this decision was appealed by various student bodies and parents, who had asked for more time to settle their fees due to financial difficulties.
