The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the commencement of the issuance and collection of Ghana Cards for Ghanaian children aged 6 to 14, starting Monday, 6th October 2025.

The NIA stated that the distribution will take place at the designated registration points, specifically the schools where the children were originally registered. This initiative begins with 56 districts nationwide, with more districts scheduled to follow in the coming days.

To complete the issuance process, each child or applicant must be physically present, accompanied by their parents or legal guardians, who should present the Form A or receipt issued on the registration day.

Williams Ampomah E. Darlas, Head of the Corporate Affairs Directorate at the NIA, assured the public, “With all backlogs of unprinted Ghana Cards now cleared, the NIA assures the public of its readiness to deliver a smooth and efficient exercise.”

The first batch covers diverse regions and districts, including Greater Accra (Ashaiman, Ga Central, Ga South, Ga West, Korle Klottey, La Dadekotopon, La Kwantanang, Shai Osudoku), Northern (Saboba, Zabzugu/Tatale), Upper West (Nandom Municipal, Sissala East Municipal, Sissala West District, Wa East District), Volta (Agotime Ziope, Central Tongu, Hohoe, Keta, Kpando, South Dayi), Western (Ellembele, Mpohor Wassa East, Sekondi, Shama, Takoradi), and Western North (Sefwi Akontombra), among others.

Further details about the resumption of new registrations for children aged 6 to 14 in other districts will be communicated in due course, according to the Authority.
