PNC: David Apasera is our presidential candidate, say some executives

On Wednesday, 25th September, some executives of the People’s National Convention (PNC) held a press conference to address key issues impacting the party’s peace and stability.

During the event, Mr. Thomas Moon Jnr. Saud, the parliamentary candidate for Weija-Gbawe constituency in the Greater Accra Region, raised concerns about the legitimacy of the party’s current leadership. He claimed that the individuals presently occupying leadership positions were not elected through legitimate means.

According to Mr. Moon, those who participated in the election of the current leaders were selected from areas such as Tudu and Dworwulu, along with other parts of Accra, in a questionable process. As a result, he and his colleagues do not recognise the current leadership as legitimate. He added that they intend to pursue the proper procedures to remove these leaders from office, emphasising that they will not acknowledge their authority or follow their directives.

Mr. Moon further noted that if all eligible members present at the press conference had been allowed to vote, Mr. Anbataayele Mornah would not have won the election against Mr. David Apasera. He accused the leadership of deliberately removing their names from the voter register to skew the election in Mr. Mornah’s favour.

He revealed that their exclusion from the voter register was discovered well before the party’s congress on September 7, 2024, and they were reliably informed of the manipulation.

In conclusion, Mr. Moon reiterated that they do not accept the results of the September 7, 2024 election. They continue to recognise Hon. David Apasera as the legitimate leader of the PNC and remain loyal to his directives.
