The Member of Parliament for the Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Mahama Asei Seini, has extended funding support to 80 tertiary students in his constituency to help pay their fees and other expenses.

The donation was made on November 5, 2023, at the district capital, Daboya.

The donation marks the third phase of his ongoing support initiative, which has already made a significant impact on the lives of many young scholars.

Each student took an amount of GHC 1,000, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to an impressive 200.

Hon. Alhaji Mahama Asei Seini said his office has set out to totally empower his constituents, adding that the donation doesn’t end there.

According to him, his move further underscores his commitment to education, having successfully secured full-time scholarships from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) for 20 deserving students.

“These scholarships will undoubtedly open doors to higher education and brighter futures for those fortunate recipients,” he stated.

Hon. Seini, who is also the deputy minister for health, admonished them to see themselves as agents of change.

He emphasised that the future of the constituency was largely dependent on them, and as such, they should take their studies seriously.

He also assured the constituents that he would use his network to secure more scholarships for all the students in tertiary institutions.

The disbursement of funds to the 80 beneficiaries was made through the district education directorate under the leadership of the district director, Mr. Clifford Ayirzoya.

Mr. Ayirzoya, in a brief remark, entreated the beneficiaries to take their studies very seriously.

He also used the opportunity to implore them to come back with the knowledge acquired to serve in developing the constituency.

He was full of appreciation to the MP for his continuous support, especially in the area of education in the district.

Speaking to the media, the beneficiaries indicated that they are really grateful to the member of parliament for the timely intervention and the support of their education, and they promised to make good use of his support.
