For Immediate Release…

THE SAVANNAH REGIONAL NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY YOUTH WING CONGRATULATES H.E DR. MAHAMUDU BAWUMIA ON HIS ELECTION AS NPP FLAGBEARER.

The New Patriotic Party, in her enlightened self-interest in maintaining a reputation as a Party of Ghana’s Unity, made history on November 4, 2023. The Youth Wing, which played a pivotal role in this history-making event, is proud to be associated with the successful outcome of the Presidential Primaries, which took place simultaneously across 275 constituencies in Ghana.

The Savannah Regional Youth Organiser, Commander Raphael Akati Mahama, together with all his Seven [7] Constituency Youth Organisers in the Savannah Region, on behalf of the rank and file of the youth in the region, wish to extend and convey hearty congratulations to H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on his election as leader and flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party for election 2024. The same measure of gratitude and congratulations goes out to the other three [3] aspirants who competed well but could not make it; you are all winners for gaining the confidence of the party. Your participation has further lit up the rich history of the NPP as the most attractive and democratically committed party in Africa.

The Raphael Akati Mahama-led Youth Wing is poised and battle-ready for the task ahead, for it’s often said that ‘A brand new day is a brand new slate; luck and favour lie along the road of struggle’. We shall work as if we are starting all over again just to see you recite the oath of presidency on January 20, 2025.

Our flag bearer [Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia] has done it before, forcing the other party [NDC] of revolutionary roots to sit at the table of issue-based politics, though they are very poor at it. However,  posterity remembers you as one non-career politician who changed the status quo.

The collective resolve of the three unsuccessful aspirants to work with and support the flagbearer to prosecute the 2024 general elections smacks of clear evidence of unity. The Youth Wing humbly requests and calls on delegates and the entire membership of the party to emulate the aspirant’s declaration to unite behind Dr. Bawumia to break the 8.

a. He is competent, skilled, and works hard;

b. He is experienced and ready to lead;

c. He is humble, considerate, and accessible;

d. He is authentic, genuine, or real;

e. He is incorruptible;

f. He is friendly and kind;

g. He is God-fearing and tolerant of people, their values, and beliefs;

h. Bawumia cares about people; he is empathetic.

i. Dr. Bawumia gets it because his story is our story.

[Communications Director, S/R Youth Wing]
