The Ghana Fintech Awards has marked its 5th anniversary with a strong call to action to strengthen Ghana’s digital financial ecosystem, particularly in the areas of cybersecurity, innovation, and collaboration.
Held under the theme “From Awareness to Action: Building a Cyber-Secure Fintech Landscape in Ghana,” the awards night brought together key players across the financial sector, including fintech startups, traditional banks, regulators, and policymakers.
Chief Executive Officer of the awards scheme, Cristina Swan-Awagah, highlighted the significant progress made in the fintech space over the past five years.
“We have moved from simply creating awareness to driving real impact through innovation, partnerships, and policy engagement,” she said.
She emphasised that the awards platform continues to serve as a catalyst for industry development by recognising excellence and encouraging collaboration across the ecosystem.
“This initiative is about building a resilient fintech landscape that supports financial inclusion, job creation, and national development,” she added.
The event also underscored the critical importance of cybersecurity and risk management as digital financial services expand across Ghana.
Industry stakeholders noted that while fintech innovation is accelerating, safeguarding customer data and maintaining trust remain essential for long-term growth.
Among the highlights of the night, GCB Bank was recognised for its digital innovation, winning Mobile Banking App of the Year, reflecting growing customer adoption of digital banking platforms.
Participants described the event as more than just an awards ceremony, but a strategic platform for dialogue, networking, and shaping the future of financial technology in Ghana.
As the fintech sector continues to expand, the Ghana Fintech Awards remains a key benchmark for excellence and a driver of transformation within the industry.
