ACI Ghana – Financial Markets Association has paid a courtesy call on Dr. Zakari Mumuni, Head of Financial Markets at the Bank of Ghana (BOG).

The association congratulated Dr. Zakari on his new appointment and introduced the new leadership of ACI Ghana to the team at the BOG.

“The meeting provided a valuable platform for both parties to discuss areas of collaboration and the collective efforts that can drive market development”, ACI Ghana said in a statement on Tuesday, July 12, 2023.

“We were honored to have Mr. Stephen Opata, Former Head of Financial Markets and current Advisor to the Governor, in attendance. His presence further enriched the discussions and demonstrated the commitment of the BOG to fostering a collaborative environment. He emphasized the importance of promoting proper behaviour within the financial markets and encouraged us to be advocates for a stable and quiet market environment,” the statement furthered.

ACI Ghana also revealed the willingness of the BOG to support and work closely with their outfit toward advancing the collective growth and development of the financial markets.

According to the association, the collaboration will present exciting opportunities to drive innovation, promote ethical practices, and ensure the sustainable growth of the financial industry in Ghana.

The association expressed its appreciation to Dr. Zakari, Mr. Opata, and the entire BOG team for their warm reception and productive discussions toward creating a vibrant and resilient financial market that will benefit all stakeholders.

The ACI Ghana-Financial Markets Association delegation was led by its President, Lawrence Osilaja Boampong. Other members of the delegation were Maame Adjoa Thompson, Vice President; Stephen Biritwum, Secretary; Steve Hansford Quansah, Treasurer; Kofi Koduah-Sarpong, the Head of Money Market and Education Committees; Elorm Aidam, FX Committee member; and Naomi Tetteh, Administrative Assistant.

The Bank of Ghana team consisted of notable individuals, including Jordan Sackey, Deputy Head and Head of Middle Office, Financial Markets; Samuel Anin, Head of Front Office, Financial Markets; Anthony Akuamoah Boateng, Head of Foreign Exchange Monitoring Unit; Paul Bleboo, Head of Gold Unit; Lilian Owusu Afriyie Ansong, Head of Fund Management Unit; and Maghnitta Mensah, Head of Forex Dealing Unit.
