Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta will tomorrow, July 31, 2023, present the mid-year fiscal policy review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy on the floor of parliament, in accordance with Section 28 of the Public Financial Management Act 2016, Act 921.

The mid-year budget, whose purpose is to provide an update of the government’s fiscal policies for the year 2023, will analyze the performance of the government for the first half as well as make projections for the final half of the year.

“It will discuss policies implemented to stabilize the economy, promote growth, and provide social protection for the vulnerable as outlined in the IMF-supported post-COVID-19 Programme for Economic Growth (PC-PEG)”, the Finance Ministry said in a statement on July 28, 2023.

On the projections for the remaining half of the year, the government mentioned “structural reforms in expenditure commitment control and arrears clearance; debt management; financial stability; and a growth agenda” aimed at restoring macroeconomic stability and accelerating economic transformation.
