The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has assured the public of firm disciplinary action after arresting a soldier who was captured in a viral video assaulting a pharmacy attendant and a female customer at Burma Camp.

In a statement issued by the Department of Public Relations and signed by Captain (GN) Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, GAF said the suspect was arrested at dawn on Thursday, October 30, 2025, by Military Police personnel. The incident reportedly occurred a day earlier, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at a pharmacy within Burma Camp.

According to the statement, the suspect is currently assisting in investigations, while the two victims have received medical care and are cooperating with investigators.

“The Armed Forces assures the general public that it will not condone any acts of assault on civilians and will not shield any soldier engaged in such,” the release stated, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to upholding discipline and professionalism.

The Ghana Armed Forces further encouraged the public to trust its internal disciplinary systems, stressing that misconduct by any personnel would be met with appropriate sanctions to preserve the integrity of the service.
