The family of late gospel musician Kofi Owusu Dua-Anto, also known as KODA, has set Friday, July 5, 2024, for his final funeral rites.
This was announced at a brief and solemn “one week” observance at the ICGC Kings Temple in Takoradi today, May 10, 2024.
The burial service will take place at KICC Ghana’s Dominion Centre on Spintex Road in Accra at 8 a.m. with an all-white dress code, according to the family.
Friday’s observance was attended by the family of the late musician, cum producer, ministers of the gospel, and fans of the artist, mostly from Takoradi.
Personalities including Joe Beecham, Uncle Ato, and Calvis Hammond were also spotted as they remembered the late multi-instrumentalist.
KODA died at age 45 in the early hours of Sunday, April 21, 2024, after a brief illness.
He is credited for releasing multi-genre gospel songs and has, to his credit, hits such as Nkwa Abodoo, Guide Me Thou Jehovah, Yesu Adi Nkunim, Nsem Pii, and Hossana.
He also featured on the records of other artists, including Joe Mettle, Nacee, Nii Okai, Joyful Way Incorporated, Calvis Hammond, the late Danny Nettey, and Francis Osei, among others.
Earlier on in his music career, he established KODED Studios, a music production firm that has produced numerous gospel songs with both professional and amateur musicians.
He was married to Ewurama, also a music minister, with whom he had three children.
