The government has revised upwards the monthly allowance to be paid to National Service Personnel from GH₵559.04 to GH₵715.57, management of the scheme has announced.

The effective date of implementation is January 2023.

“The approval, which was contained in a letter, dated 18th July 2023, and signed by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Hon. Abena Osei Asare (MP) was as a result of series of engagements between National Service Scheme, Fair Wages and Salaries Commission and the Ministry of Finance,” part of the statement from the Scheme read.

The statement further noted that all service personnel who are currently in service will be paid the difference from the effective date of implementation.

It urged restraint from service personnel as administrative processes commence to give effect to the revised allowances.

NSS personnel have been receiving GH₵559.04 since January 2017.
