Former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has publicly endorsed her brother, Israel Kwawdo Safo, as the leader of the Kantanka family and the Kristo Asɔfo Church, calling for reconciliation and unity among the family following the death of their father, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo.
In a statement issued on Thursday, October 8, 2026, Sarah Adwoa Safo said she had chosen the path of reconciliation and was prepared to work with her brother to preserve and advance their late father’s vision and legacy.
She said the family must move beyond differences and grievances that may have characterised the period following their father’s death.
“The time has come for us, as a family, to transcend whatever differences, misunderstandings or grievances that may have characterised the immediate aftermath of the demise of our dear dad and consign them to history,” she said.
“I have chosen the path of reconciliation, founded upon love, mutual respect and the enduring undisputed bonds of family,” she added.
Sarah Adwoa Safo said she had “immense love and respect” for Israel Kwawdo Safo and, in keeping with their father’s wishes, was publicly recognising him as the leader of both the Kantanka family and the Kristo Asɔfo Church.
“He has my full support, and I state unequivocally, that I am prepared and willing to work together with him in the interest of the family and the Church, in furtherance of our father’s Vision and Legacy,” she said.
She further stressed that the legacy of Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo should not be viewed as the possession of one individual, but as a collective inheritance entrusted to his children.
“Our father’s legacy transcends any one individual. It is a collective inheritance and a profound responsibility entrusted to us, as his children and it is a charge we must keep and hold on to, dearly,” she said.
According to her, the family must rise above its differences to protect what their father built and ensure that his ideals continue to influence future generations.
“We must therefore rise above our differences, preserve what he built and ensure that his ideals continue to inspire generations to come,” she stated.
Sarah Adwoa Safo also appealed to members of the Kristo Asɔfo Church, the wider Kantanka family and people associated with Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo’s work to acknowledge and respect the unity of the family.
She urged them to embrace what she described as a new chapter founded on reconciliation, fraternity and a shared sense of purpose.
“Let us embrace this new chapter with reconciliation, fraternity and a shared sense of purpose,” she said.
She concluded by extending goodwill to Israel Kwawdo Safo and her other siblings, expressing hope that the renewed commitment to peace and forgiveness would strengthen the family.
“May this new chapter bring healing, unity and renewed strength as we come together to honour and advance the legacy of our beloved father,” she said.
