Popular artist manager and entertainment analyst Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bulldog or Bullgod, has filed a suit against award-winning performer Charles Nii Armah Mensah, better known as Shatta Wale, for defamation.

The two have been engaging in a series of social media exchanges when Shatta Wale, in one of his remarks, called out his one-time manager for his involvement in the death of former artist manager and events promoter, Fennec Okyere.

The late Fennec Okyere was murdered in cold blood by an unknown person at his residence on Spintex Roads on March 13, 2014.

In Shatta Wale’s publication, he asked another artist, Kwaw Kesse, to pursue the death of his former manager, purportedly to suggest Bulldog’s complicity in the crime.

In their response, the Ghana Police Service stated that it has “made contact with Shatta Wale” to assist them with investigations into the matter.

According to the police, Fennec’s murder is part of a number of unresolved murder cases they are handling.

However, on Monday, Bulldog filed a lawsuit at the Accra High Court, seeking damages from Wale for defamation.

Among the reliefs Bulldog is seeking from the court are an unqualified retraction and apology by Shatta Wale on his social media pages for seven (7) consecutive days and an injunction restraining Wale and his associates from publishing any further defamatory words against his person.
