The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced plans to hold a critical Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Tuesday, 1st October 2024, as part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in the country’s electoral process.

In a press release issued by Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman of Operations at the EC, the meeting is designed to create a platform for political parties to present any findings or concerns related to the Provisional Voters Register (PVR). This gathering will also provide the EC with an opportunity to offer an updated report on the issues it has identified and resolved in relation to the register.

“The Commission is confident that the feedback from political parties will help further strengthen the 2024 Voters Register,” said Mr. Tettey, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in improving the electoral process.

In a bid to enhance public transparency and boost confidence in the electoral system, the EC has also announced that the meeting will be broadcast live, ensuring that citizens are kept informed.

This move, according to the Commission, is part of a broader strategy to build trust in the electoral processes ahead of the upcoming national elections.
