Ghanaian football fans are clamouring for the removal of the executives of the Ghana Football Association following a poor showing by the Black Stars in the 2023 AFCON, exiting at the group stage.
In a statement on Tuesday night, the GFA announced that it had parted ways with coach Chris Hughton and dissolved members of the technical team.
It also said that it would reveal the way forward for the Black Stars in the coming days.
However, a wide section of Ghanaians seem not to be happy with the Kurk Okraku-led administration recounting the successive negative outturns of the senior national soccer team in recent tournaments.
They have called on the government to initiate moves with global football authorities to dissolve the association.
Several Ghanaian journalists have also questioned the relevance of the association on the back of huge financial outlays on the Black Stars at the expense of local football development, including the Ghana Premier League.
Kurt, who took over the helm of affairs at the Ghana Football Association in 2019, got re-elected in 2023 after a controversial election that ultimately saw him go unopposed.
His second term of office is expected to end in 2027.
