Social Media Users Tease African Heads of State for “Unpresidential” Treatment At Queen’s Funeral

Sections of social media activists have trolled African heads of state attending the funeral service of the late Queen Elizabeth II, observing the non-presidential treatment being offered to them.

Apart from the US president, Joe Biden, who was permitted to fly in with his private jet and protocol details, all other heads of state, including African leaders, were asked not to come with private airplanes.

Also, per the arrangement communicated by the organisers, they were all to board arranged buses which moved them to the funeral premises.

According to the social media users, such treatment was the norm for most African leaders, who otherwise would have travelled in expensive personal jets, long convoys, and with a packed delegation.

Below are some reactions to video footage of African leaders being bus-driven to the funeral venue.

About 2,000 mourners from across the world have assembled at West Minster Abbey to pay their last respects to the late Queen.

She died on the 8th of September at Balmoral Castle, after 70 years and 7 months of rulership.
