WE TOO SHALL PASS
I’ve seen people I grew up with fade into the thickness of the night,
Never to return again.
I’ve seen men of sound health roll over in their sleep and never respond to the cock’s crow.
I’ve wined and dined with carefree folks only to hear the next day that they’re gone through accidents.
I’ve lost some real close buddies and family members that I never thought would be late this soon.
All these losses and separations have
Made me aware of how fleeting life is and all that it consists of.
This life has nothing in it except for vanity upon vanity!
There’s nothing worth celebrating;
Nothing worth being overly excited about! People come and go like chaff.
What’s worse?? Right after their burial, they’re forgotten like they never once lived!
This is the the nature of life and how it deals with the sons and daughters of men.
Life is no respecter of persons.
We too shall pass in the same vane we saw others pass.
We’ll sooner or later become history just as they have become history.
There will come a generation who’ll totally forget about us and will not tell their offsprings about us.
We’ll stop existing in their minds and traditions.
If there’s anything worth fighting for, it’s our salvation. We’ve got to guard it with our whole heart, body and soul.
When it’s all said and done, it’s appointed unto man once to die and
After death, the judgment!
So why chase after earthly pleasures and lose your soul in the process??
